This month we would like to thank you all with this heart felt edition of #DOBROOKLYN for everyone.

Since the First Saturday of the month is less than 24hrs away we are going to keep it with tradition and kick this off at the Party!! But that’s not all….!

This month the infamous Photog from Spain, JR., Chronicles 2 decades of Public Art, in this exhibit showcasing Murals, Photographs, and Archived footage. This is his very first North American Show, appropriately curated at The Brooklyn Museum, on Eastern Parkway. In particular, the showcasing of the intersection of photography, social engagement and street art, and its sometimes profound effects. This is one show you want want to miss, but not to worry, if you’d rather stroll through during quiet time, it will be on display until May!!.

If you’re looking for some great new pieces to add to your collection of fall wears then you’re in luck! Let’s go shop hopping and have a bite on the way.

Stroll through the streets of Brooklyn’s Boutique shops lined with all the trimmings of Fall, front and center. So throw on a few layers and that great fall jacket, and get out there! We’re big fans of fall fashion because those colors and fabrics allow for great creative fusions in the closet!

For the James Dean or “Jane” in you, head over to another favorite for Fall Gear! Jane Motorcycles where you’ll find some of the coolest brands in Motorcycle and tough weather gear and apparel. This place is the “Go2” in Brooklyn for custom Motorcycle riders. They collab with the likes of #BMW because they’ve been recognized to have their own take on what a Biker needs, and you know what…. They’re right. There’s free wifi if you want to sit down for a coffee or sandwich, and Here’s a tip: Your coffee is FREE with any purchase of one of their custom motorcycles. So by the time you’re finished milling over which design to purchase and pay for, that cup of Joe you’ve been sipping on would be on the house! Yep, you heard me! As the cool air beckons us inside we prepare for the holiday of Harvest, when we all get together with our loved ones and give thanks over a delicious feast. And the one who gets the best beverage has bragging rights for the whole year!! So we’re going to help you out!

Whether we’re staying in or going out, you gotta bring that good Vino for this feast. Happy Cork Brooklyn, located at 51 Buffalo Ave. came fresh out the box and set up shop with wonderful reclaimed and repurposed items all throughout the interior decor which made it very warm and earthy. The owner, Sunshine really made it a special place, she was extremely knowledgeable about every wine in the shop and talked highly of all of the local Brooklyn brands she supports at Happy Cork Brooklyn. My faves were Brooklyn’s True Wine Connoisseurs, Cabernet, but OceanHill Apple Brandy and the Organic Domaine Bousquet Malbec looked really good!

Featherweight gets one of our “in the cut” awards! This tucked away basement speakeasy isn’t the run of the mill! It beats to its own drum down there and it’ll make you move your body! Due to its unique hours you can only find it open from 7pm-2m Sunday – Thursday and 2p – 3am Saturday & Sunday. If you plan it just right you’ll be swinging with the best of them at the stroke of midnight!! Here’s a tip: you can grab dinner upstairs at Sweet Science. Now I know Williamsburg’s got the savory and fun Smorgasburg moving inside and all that, but you’ve gotta have that one spot in pocket, in any hood, ready to pull it out at a moments notice. For me it’s the one and only Pies-n-Thighs!! For a great southern style breakfast. incredible doughnuts and Chicken & Waffles…. I love this place!!! At “Wooden Sleepers” you’ll find some really cool old school gear and vintage boutique, per se. I never knew old clothes can be so Chic, but the curator here has a rare talent for making that old jacket your Dad used to wear, look en Vogue! Did I just say old school gear can be chic!? Just remember, when you just have to have some #official #HipHop Brooklyn #Gear you’re gonna have to stop at Vinnie’s Styles and the “House Of Brooklyn” on Flatbush, near Barclay Center. This Trinity is behind the “House of Brooklyn” group and is on fire as they break ground onto the music scene with a gang of artists coming straight outta Brooklyn. Stop and check out the brothers.
